Riverfront Master Plan
This is the one plan that the City of Daytona Beach seemed to be serious about. Compare the implementation plan for the Riverfront to the one developed for the Downtown/Ballough Road Redevelopment Area Plan, and you will see that the level of detail is strikingly different, and that this is the one plan that talks very specifically about where the money could be found to make this a reality. It's also the one plan where redevelopment has been successfully initiated although many of the recommendations were tossed aside in the design of the Riverfront Esplanade championed and partially funded by Hyatt Brown, whose Brown and Brown insurance firm as built a multi-story office building across from the north end of the park. The City Commission has committed to paying the Esplanade Foundation $800,000 a year to reimburse them for the construction cost.
